David Hammond Jr, a dedicated program planning and evaluation coordinator, hails from Columbus, GA, and takes immense pride in being an alumnus of Central High School in Phenix City, AL. His academic journey led him to Alabama State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications. During his time at Alabama State, David actively engaged in multiple student leadership organizations, emerging as a prominent figure within these groups, including serving as the Student Government Association president.

It was during his undergraduate years that David developed a keen interest in higher education. This passion prompted him to pursue further studies, leading to the attainment of his M.Ed. in Student Personnel in Higher Education from the University of Florida. Armed with his master's degree, David embarked on a career path that began as a Program Manager at the United Negro College Fund. In this role, he focused on providing transformational support for several Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), demonstrating his commitment to advancing educational opportunities for underrepresented communities.

With a wealth of experience under his belt, David returned to his alma mater, Alabama State University, where he is currently making a significant impact. He plays a crucial role in the Office of Institutional Effectiveness, overseeing strategic initiatives and spearheading transformative projects. David's dedication to the enhancement of higher education and his strategic approach to planning and evaluation make him a valuable asset to the university community.
