Eight students in Alabama University's Dr. Percy J. Vaughn, Jr. College of Business Administration (COBA) have passed the important Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) examination, which puts them closer to achieving their goals of having successful careers within the financial industry.
COBA dean, Dr. Kamal Hingorani, identified the students as Boluwatife Falaki, Tynesha Anderson, Houston T. Thompson, David Warmate, Zhibin Fu, Dari Thornton, Phillip Bonton III, and Kayleigh Dunn.
"We are most pleased that our eight COBA students have done so well as to pass this exam, which highlights their academic achievements within the financial industry and puts them one-step closer to obtaining a good job within the industry itself," Hingorani stated.
The dean explained that by passing the examination, the students show that they have mastered a foundational knowledge of the securities industry, which will increase each one of their abilities to receive internships and be hired within the securities industry.
“This initiative is designed to support students’ career aspirations by helping them earn industry-recognized certifications,” said Hingorani. “By covering exam costs and providing financial support, we at COBA aim to remove barriers and empower students to start building careers in finance and beyond.”
