Thank you for visiting the website of the Zelia Stephens Early Childhood Center located on the campus of Alabama State University.  The Zelia Stephens Early Childhood Center educates children age’s three and four under the Creative Curriculum for Preschoolers/GOLD Teaching Strategies.  ZSECC is an AdvancED Cognia Accredited Center.  At the present time, ZSECC has five classes funded by the Montgomery Community Action Agency and three classes of the First Class Pre-K4 program from the Office of School Readiness.  The children are exposed to regular field trips, the computer lab, literacy programs through the media center curriculum, performances on the Alabama State University campus and through the ASU College of Education. The students arrive each morning at 7:45 a.m. and dismissal is at 2 p.m. Our mission is to educate the whole child through mental, physical, and social development.
