communications
Become a journalist, TV/radio announcer, concert producer, PR specialist or recording/mix engineer with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Alabama State University.
Inside the classroom, you’ll receive a strong liberal arts education and choose one of six areas of study: journalism, public relations, radio and television, communication studies, recording industry and recording technology. You’ll also have access to media professionals throughout the southeast who serve as guest lecturers and attend ASU seminars and workshops, like the Ida B. Wells Lecture Series.
Outside the classroom, you’ll get the real-world experience you need to succeed. Every student is required to complete a practicum or internship before graduation, and the university’s radio station, WVAS-FM, and ASU’s partnerships with area newspapers, PR firms, TV and radio stations, marketing agencies and magazines give you an edge and let you discover your future career.
