Pi Sigma Alpha – Pi Sigma Alpha is the only political science and government college honor society in the United States. Membership Criteria: 1) completion of 1/2 credits required for baccalaureate degree, 2) completion of 10 semester-credits in political science, including one upper-division course, with B average or better in those courses, and 3) overall GPA placing you in the top one-third of your class. College Democrats – An affiliate of the Democratic Party, this group works to engage college students on local, state, and national elections and political issues. Members host voter registration drives, connect students with their political representatives, and educate the campus community on current legislation. Model United Nations – Model United Nations is an internationally-focused academic organization. Students take part in conference simulations of real world United Nations committee, council, and assembly sessions; they also work to promote awareness of global issues at ASU. Christians United in Prayer – This group uses prayer to fight issues and problems hindering the growth and well-being of Alabama State University. The organization will resume hosting “Prayer Around the Tree” (further info TBA) and plans to initiate additional activities, including dorm prayers and Bible study. Regular meetings are held on Wednesdays at 12:00 in TH 202.
