Applications for EPP are continuous. 

EPP Application Requirements:

• EPP Application
• Three (3) completed interviews/dispositions
• Cleared ASBI and FBI criminal history and background check
• Passing Scores on all parts of the Praxis I Core Academic Skills Assessment
• Minimum overall GPA of at least 2.75 in General Studies, Professional Studies, and Teaching Field areas on a 4.0 scale

Orientation: 

All students must enroll in and pass EDU 100 to get the necessary paperwork, information, due dates and expectations of the COE’s Educator Preparation Program.  

The EDU 100 course is offered Fall, Spring and Summer terms.

Interviews:

EPP applicants will participate in an interview per the EPP entrance requirements. Interviews will be conducted by a COE faculty member or advisor.  

Appointment will be scheduled by the Department Chairperson or Advisor. 

Acceptance:  

Students will be contacted via email when admitted to the EPP.

It is the student’s responsibility to turn in all necessary documents needed to process the EPP application. By signing the EPP Checklist and application, the student agrees that all documents required have been submitted. If required documentation is missing, the application will become invalid and the student must reapply in order to be reconsidered.

STEP I

Pick up an Application for Graduation from your advisor.  Complete the entire application. 

STEP II

TYPE name on Graduation Application. Type full name using, JR, II, III, capital letters, hyphens or accent marks, where necessary. For example, LaKeisha La´Shae McMillian or Thomas DeJackson Brown III.

STEP III 

Students in the College of Education MUST follow the steps below:           

1. Schedule appointment with advisor in order to go over application, advisement/audit report, and other supporting documents for graduation. 
2. If applicable, apply for the Alabama Professional Certificate (follow the Educator Certification Instructions) and complete the CIT Form.
3. Pay for the ASU Graduation Application fee.
4. Submit completed Alabama Professional Certificate and ASU Graduation Application, including all supporting documents to the Educator Certification Office, Ralph Abernathy Hall, Room 211.
5. Once received in the Educator Certification Office, ASU Graduation Application will be assessed for academic deficiencies by the Educator Certification Director and signed by the Dean of the COE.  
6. The ASU Graduation Application will be forwarded to the Office of Records and Registration, J. Garrick Hardy Center, C201.  
7. NOTE: THE OFFICE OF RECORDS AND REGISTRATION WILL NOTIFY STUDENTS CONCERNING ANY ACADEMIC DEFICIENCIES AND FINANCIAL OBLIGATIONS THAT WILL PROHIBIT GRADUATION.
