    Our Bachelor of Music degree with an instrumental emphasis will prepare you to teach keyboard, woodwind, brasswind and percussion instruments, as well as marching band techniques.

What Can You Do With a Music Degree?

Earning a B.A. in music or Bachelor of Music Education degree from Alabama State University will prepare you for a huge variety of career opportunities and graduate programs. Past graduates from our BA in music degree program have gone on to become performers, conductors, composers and educators. Our music education degree program boasts a 100% job placement rate for our graduates.

Many of our music degree graduates continue their education in graduate programs at prestigious institutions like Berklee College of Music and the New England Conservatory.

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), employment opportunities for music directors and composers are projected to grow 6% over the next decade, about as fast as average for other occupational fields. Musicians and singers will see even better growth, at 11% over the same amount of time.

For Bachelor of Music Education degree graduates, the BLS predicts employment growth between 7% and 8%, depending on which grades you teach.
