At ASU, you will engage in diverse coursework and specialized research training within our graduate biology degrees. Our 35-credit-hour master’s in biology program features courses such as:

Applied Microbiology

Which takes a deep dive into the microbiology of food, water and soil, with emphasis on quality control, sanitation and public health.

Molecular Genetics

Which looks at the molecular aspects of gene structure, duplication, mutation and phenotypic expression.

We also offer summer research opportunities for you to collaborate with Brookhaven National Laboratory, NASA and more.

As a Master of Science in Biology student, you will be able to join graduate student groups such as the American Society of Microbiology and the Graduate Biological Sciences Student Association. Through these two organizations, you’ll work with undergraduate students pursuing biology degrees and help them through professional development, networking and tutoring opportunities.
